Midterm 10

For midterm 10 I used MS word drawing tools to create various shapes and lines to create a house scene. With different types of coloring fills on each of them.

Midterm 7

For midterm 7 I had found a picture of a celebrity off of google.com that I had wanted to edit. I then used the logo provided in the exercise section of the website and copied/pasted that into Photoshop. From there I used the ellipse selection tool to select the circle and then copied/pasted it onto the celebrity document. After I resized the circle to fit his eye then duplicated it to be used as his other eye. After this I made a black box at the bottom. After I used the text tool on 3 separate layers to add the text using different fonts and colors. Then posted it on my blog.

Midterm 6

For this I had to animate my name and save it as a .gif. In order to do so I took the ellipse tool and made a proportional circle in the middle of a blank document. I then took the text tool and assigned it to the path of the circle. After I had copied the text several times and set them each at different positions around the circle. After I separated out each of these into its own frame making an animation. Then posted on blog.

Midterm 5

In order to do this I had to take the monster.jpg from the resources portion of the course website and save it to my desktop. Following this I had to use the brush tool to write my name in large bold letters. After this I had to save the image in two different formats; progressive jpeg, and interlaced png. After that I posted on my blog.

Midterm 4

In order to do this I had gone to Web3DChat.com and entered the portal worlds portion of the site. From there I selected an avatar I liked and copied the URL. Then once in the world I pasted the URL into the properties dialog to see my avatar. Following this I took a screenshot and then went into Photoshop and pasted it. After I added the text from the website at the bottom of the image and added a white box behind it so the text became more visible. Finally saved it as png and posted.

Midterm 9

This is a screenshot of what I did in MS Word. It contains vector graphics made with various shapes and textures from the drawing palette in MS Word.

Manny Coffee

For this I found a picture of a celebrity on google.com then saved it to my dekstop. After I saved the java.gif image to my desktop and opened it in MS Paint. Then I resized the image to the size of Manny's eyes and then copied the result. Following this I opened the celebrity picture and pasted the cup of coffee over both his eyes

Color Ramp (.jpeg)

Here, the jpeg formats tries to smooth out the color differences, making the image lose that crisp edge feeling. But this format allows for more colors to be used.

Color Ramp (.gif)

The gif formats allow for a crisp edge, making the loss of quality for flat colored images very low.

Red Eye Assignment

.png

.jpg

.gif

For the red eye assignment I had to open the redeye.jpg that I had modified and re-save it as the two other file extensions. The only notable differences were the great loss in quality after saving as a gif, for it only could use 256 colors. Also the .gif had the smallest files size. The jpeg was great quality and a good file size but the .png had the same quality as the jpeg but was almost 3x the file size.

Midterm 3

For this last exercise, I saved the ball.tiff to my desktop and opened it. After I had used the brush tool to write my name on the side of the image, big enough to read. After I had gone to file>save as and saved the image as the three different file formats: jpeg, png, and gif. Then posted on my blog.

(the order of the images go jpeg, gif, png)

Midterm 2

For this exercise, I had downloaded the image and opened it in Photoshop. I then used the selection tool to select and area where I wanted to put a caption, then filled the selected area with white. Following this I used the text tool to write "James Endres says Samus is a trouble maker." Adjusted the text accordingly and saved as samus.jpg then uploaded to my blog.

Midterm 1

For the first exercise, I downloaded the redeye.jpg, opened it with photoshop and signed my name using the text tool. Following this I had zoomed in and used the eye dropper to select the surrounding color of the eye and saved that color to my swatches palette. After I used the brush tool to fill in the necessary spots on the eye, zoomed back out, and then saved it as redeye.jpg then uploaded it to my blog.
